Renewal: 28 Days of Seasonal Nourishment, Herbal Wisdom & Reflection
✨✨✨ONLY 2 SPACES LEFT✨✨✨
As late winter transitions to early spring, Renewal invites you to slow down, reset and align with the wisdom of nature’s cycles. Renewal is an intimate space for connection, nourishment, reflection and ritual.
This course is for anyone who is feeling anxious, quick to anger, spread too thin and/ or needs a reset. For anyone who wants to foster a kinder, more compassionate relationship with nourishment and rest. This course is also for those who thrive in spring and wish to connect more deeply with the medicine and gifts of the season.
In the 5 element tradition of Chinese Medicine, the season of spring corresponds to the wood element. The related organ systems are the liver and gallbladder - allowing for authentic creative expression, vision, decisiveness, flexibility and facility in taking action toward one’s dreams and goals. The emotion that energetically corresponds to the wood element is anger. Another way of thinking of anger is evidenced in the determination - plants pushing through the cracks in the sidewalk - to express one’s creative essence.
There are 4 main pillars of support in Renewal:
Herbal Support:
Each week you will be introduced to (reacquainted with) with a seasonal herb; cultivating a relationship with the plant. Week I you will experience a remarkable root tea that supports digestion, elimination, circulation and immunity. Week II you will work with an unparalleled, nutritive herb that is a tonic for the kidneys (adrenals) and liver. Week III you will work with the abundance of a member of the mint family that lifts the spirit and reminds one of the great abundance. Week IV you will interact with an herb categorized as a ‘nervine’, soothing and calming frazzled nerve endings and deeply nourishing the adrenals.
Nourishment:
The focus is on eating local, seasonal foods that provide nourishment and hydration for the roots of your being. You will learn (remember) how to prepare delicious seasonal porridges; nourishing meals that incorporate root vegetables, gluten-free grains, nuts, seeds and locally sourced proteins. The course includes a 2 week elimination phase to give your whole being a much needed reset.
Slowing Down & Reflection & Community:
Introspection, reflection and stillness are yin arts that must be cultivated year-round, and especially so as the pace of spring quickens. You will be invited to reflect on your relationship with rest, creativity, nourishment and the flow of your emotions. You will craft an intention for the 4 weeks. Daily gratitude practice. Weekly journaling prompt for reflection & insight.
Fire Ritual:
Together we will gather around the fire; connecting with self, other and the spirit of fire. We will offer our intentions to the fire and share stories.
